“Disease”

A twelve-note scale and a metered sheet music isn't capable to express the sound of “Disease” with its layered vocal and inflections of electronic instruments. The harmony of the track is very complicated.

The track is not an atonal piece but a piece with two harmonies: major and minor. The initial key is B Major, but B Minor was superimposed on it for a quirky sound design. The scale is probably Aeolian dominant.

The chords used in the track are not power chords (without the third degree) but it's better for you to omit the third degrees if you will use the indicated chord symbols for re-arrangement because it sounds harsh on upright piano.

The chords are B D G E against Bm Dm Gm Em.

“Disease” is composed with a straight rhythm in common time. Accent strong beats but do it softly.

The left-hand texture is thick and makes great use of the bass register.

The right hand imitates vocal delivery by Lady Gaga: a predominant articulation is non-legato.

Pitch inflections (slurred Ah-ohs) are played quietly.

The melody is build to surprise, to attract attention with a rapid flow with sudden changes of direction, expressive pauses, a recitative style.

The aesthetic value of a track is based on unconventional tonal behavior that adds movement and tension under a simple and repetitive one-note melody.
